AIA was pleased to support the Malaysian Institute of Accountants International Accountants Conference 2013, which took place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 26 and 27 November 2013. An AIA delegation, including Branch Representatives and AIA Recruitment Manager, Sharon Gorman attended, and the AIA also exhibited at the event, which attracts accounting professionals from all over Malaysia and the world.
AIA was delighted to welcome many delegates to the stand, including YB Dato" Seri Haji Ahmad Husni Mohamed Hanadzlah, Minister of Finance of Malaysia.
Following the Council meeting on the 29 November 2013, AIA is delighted to announce that Les Bradley has been elected President of the Association of International Accountants (AIA), taking over from Andrew Lamb who has served as President for the last four years.
Commenting on his appointment Les said: "It is a great honour to be elected AIA President and Chairman of the Council. Supporting members will be my priority, whatever their different needs and geographical location, I believe that they are our best asset. I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional education and membership services and further developing the AIA's recognition globally.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne will give his annual Autumn Statement to Parliament on 5 December 2013.
The statement provides an update on the government’s plans for the economy based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility. These forecasts will be published alongside the Autumn Statement on 5 December.
AIA works with academic and professional partners across the globe to share knowledge and expertise in accountancy education; this programme of academic transference is a two-way process. In India, AIA is enjoying a growing relationship with many academic partners and has recently welcomed many new members from this region.
