AIA offers professional accountants two routes to direct membership.

Route 1 – EU Mutual Recognition of Qualifications

Route 1 applies to those who have the right to practice in the United Kingdom under Regulation 5 of the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Regulations 1991.

Route 2 – Membership of an IFAC Member Body*

Route 2 is open to applicants from all sectors of the profession who are members of an IFAC member body* and who can demonstrate records of achievement in accountancy.

* Full membership only, not applicable to Associate or Affiliate member bodies.
