The President's Dinner and Awards will be held at Plaisterers' Hall at One London Wall from 18:30 until midnight on Thursday 5 October 2017. The black-tie event will commence with a drinks reception in the Livery Hall, giving you the opportunity to reconnect with old friends or make new ones, followed by a delicious three course dinner.

The AIA Awards are designed to recognise the best that the accountancy profession has to offer. Set against strict criteria the awards are shortlisted by the AIA, and winners are chosen either by the AIA Council, or public vote, depending on the category.
Following dinner, the 2017 winners will be presented with their awards on stage. The award categories on the evening will be:
- Outstanding Contribution to the Accountancy Profession
Awarded to an invididual who has made a significant contribution to the development and good standing of the accountancy profession throughout their career.
- AIA Accountant of the Year
Awarded to an individual AIA member who stands out from their peers, either in business, practice or academia.
- Accountancy Media of the Year
Awarded to an accountancy media outlet which can always be guaranteed to provide the latest accountancy news, information and opinion.
- Accountancy Firm of the Year
Awarded to an accountancy firm which has provided an outstanding and innovative first class service offering. The firm should be a shining example to the industry, leading the way in best practice.
- Accounting Software of the Year
Awarded to a business which operates a software that provides innovative, time saving solutions to the accountancy profession.
- AIA Student of the Year
Awarded to an AIA student who has demonstrated an exceptionally high level of commitment to their studies and achieved excellent results in their exams; either reflecting a significant improvement in their marks or marks which set them apart from their peers.

Educational & Benevolent Fund
On the evening we will also be running a charity donation for the Educational and Benevolent Fund. The fund was founded to raise and provide funds for those wishing to undergo education and training in accountancy and to provide relief for AIA members, students and the dependents of those members in cases of need hardship or distress.
Any donations on the evening, however big or small will be greatly received.
