Direct Entry

If you already have a professional accountancy qualification, and have a proven track record of experience, you may be eligible for direct membership of the AIA.
There are two routes to direct entry:
MUTUAL RECOGNITION OF QUALIFICATIONS
This route applies to you if you have the right to practice in the UK under the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Directive.
MEMBERSHIP OF AN IFAC MEMBER BODY
This route applies to you if you are a current, full member; having successfully completed the exams, of an International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) member body, and which has no disciplinary action pending. Associate IFAC member bodies and Affiliate IFAC member bodies are excluded from this scheme.
Please note that all applications are considered on an individual basis, as some restrictions still apply.
For example, the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Institute of of Financial Accountants (IFA) are both IFAC member bodies, however AAT is a technician level qualification and is listed at Level 4 and IFA is listed at Level 4 and 5 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), whereas the AIA Professional Qualification is at QCF Level 7, therefore we will not accept AAT or IFA members through this route.
In all cases please seek further advice from the AIA Recruitment Team to check eligibility and request an application form.
There are two levels of full AIA membership, Associate and Fellow, and direct entry is offered on a like for like basis.
