Join Amanda Dean for this Webinar which will discuss the Finance Act 2019. The move to a new Budget cycle with an earlier, autumn Budget and legislation enacted in advance of the new tax year promised greater certainty for taxpayers. But March 2019 sees the UK on the brink of Brexit and, almost simultaneously, the planned launch of the new digital VAT returns. Never a dull moment for tax practitioners.
The webinar will focus on what’s to come in the immediate future ready for FY 2018 and 2018/19. As well as key points from the latest Finance Bill, there will be a look at the tax compliance and administrative challenges facing all tax practices, including ever-changing IT requirements, data considerations and anti-money laundering requirements.
Amanda worked as a full-time professional singer for six years before training in tax. She joined Ernst & Young’s Entertainment department, qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1998. Since then she has combined freelance tax work with her continuing musical career and family life.
Amanda’s tax practice assists UK sole traders and partnerships working in entertainment and media. Academic work includes her role as moderator of tax examinations for the Association of International Accountants. She writes or moderates exams for two other awarding bodies. Amanda also serves as a lay member on the Chartered Insurance Institute’s disciplinary appeal panel.
As part of her continuing development in tax, Amanda studied for the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation, completing this in 2013.
Musically, Amanda’s preference is for contemporary classical music. She is happy with either a Stockhausen score or the latest tax legislation. Brexit and MTD for VAT are currently at the top of her otherwise short list of worries for 2019.
