The “industry and finance integration” is the business model transformation whereby industrial operations and financial capital join-force to accelerate enterprise expansion and boost long-term capital appreciation.
This integration involves industrial capital and financial capital that are connected through equity investment or key management participation. Industrial capital generally refers to the real and financial assets possessed by non-financial institutions such as industrial and commercial enterprises. Financial capital normally refers to the resources controlled by financial institutions such as banks, insurance, securities, and trusts. The amalgamation of industry and finance can be initiated from either industrial capital or financial capital, and is expected to generate synergy with higher-than-usual return on investment through asset securitisation and more effective information sharing and human resources utilisation.
