The Association of International Accountants (AIA), the global body for professional accountants are proud to announce they are new kit sponsor for the Under 14’s Washington Athletic Football Club.
Washington Athletic Football Club was only established in 2010, but already boasts over 30 teams at differing age groups, making it one of the biggest clubs in the region. The under 14’s team currently play their matches in the Durham County Football Association League.
The kit sponsorship donation has paid for full new playing kits for the U14 team, with all of the players now proudly carrying the Associations logo on their shirts for the 2017/18 season.
Whilst the AIA’s key objective is to be a forward thinking progressive and diverse membership body which supports and promotes the creation of world class accountants, they also believe strongly in working closely within the communities in which they operate to support education, health and well-being in all forms.
AIA Head of Development, Sharon Gorman, said: “We’re delighted to make this donation and support the U14’s team. As a professional body, proactively working for our members we feel strongly about supporting good causes in the communities in which we and our members live and work.
Washington football club are aligned closely to our values, working closely with their local community to provide a structured platform to help nurture and develop young talent by creating opportunities and building healthy competition.
John Lowden, Head Coach for Washington Athletic Football Club U14’s, said: “I am thrilled that AIA has agreed to be the U14’s kit sponsor for the 2017/18 season. On behalf of the players and coaches I would like to express my appreciation to AIA for this kit sponsorship.
“We have a fantastic development structure in place which helps to give youngsters an opportunity to develop their football skills and with teamwork helps them to mature as young people, but without support from local businesses it can sometimes be very difficult to finance the provision of ongoing development for all of the teams within the club.
“Thank you once again AIA for your support.”
AIA wish the U14’s team good luck for the season ahead.
