Initial Professional Development

AIA students are required to complete two elements prior to becoming an AIA qualified accountant, these are:

• Passing the AIA professional exams; and
• Three years relevant and supervised work experience.

The work experience or Initial Professional Development (IPD) element of the AIA pre qualification program is designed to help you to recognise, develop and record the professional skills and competencies you acquire through your work based experience.

Guidelines

AIA has changed the IPD or work experience element of its professional qualification. These changes will further enhance the format and learning environment for each individual undertaking IPD and greater acknowledges the variances of careers in the accountancy profession.
