On 2 March AIA Council Member, Michael Chow , was among five esteemed professionals to be invited as panelists / speakers for the RHTLaw TaylorWessing and RHT Forensics & Disputes Advisory on "Safeguarding your company against corporate corruption overseas".
The event, held in Singapore was organised in the wake of a recent bribery case involving a large Singapore public listed company’s Brazil opersations. The business in question was fined in a global settlement for in excess of US$400m for violation of US law under Foreign Corruption Practices Act.
The panelists, including Mr Chow are well known in the Singaporean marketplace, holding key senior roles with regulators (ACRA, SAC etc.) and sitting on a variety of listed company boards.
The closed door event attracted over 40 participants, with an active exchange of viewpoints and queries.
Following the success of this RHT event Singapore sovereign fund, Temasek Holdings have announced that they will be holding a roundtable event on corruption.
