The Association of International Accountants (AIA), the global body for professional accountants are delighted to announce the re-election of Mr Les Bradley as President for 2017/18.

The re-election took place today (21 July 2017) during the bi-monthly council meeting which was held at the AIA head office. Les will commence his 5th term in office as President.

Les has been in practice as an accountant since qualifying with the AIA in 1971 and works within a busy practice. He has accumulated a vast amount of experience across accountancy and taxation services and has a varied client portfolio.  He has served on the AIA Council for many years taking on the role as Vice President in 2009, and the role of President in 2013.

Commenting upon his re-election, Les said: “During my first four years as AIA President, the AIA have made great in roads into the accountancy profession and I am very proud of the fact that I am part of an association which was formed back in 1928.

“Over the past four years I have travelled the globe, visiting branches and attending events on behalf of the AIA, and I personally feel that I can continue to contribute even more in the upcoming financial year with the strength and support of the AIA branches, members and the council behind me.

“Leadership by example is of paramount importance to me as I always practice what I preach; throughout my working career I have never asked anyone do to anything that I couldn’t do myself. This I believe is the wealth of experience that I have and will continue to bring to the AIA.

“I realise change is important and we have to accept change, even if sometimes we do not want to. So with the next year I want to see the association become bigger and stronger, whilst also moving forward memberships with bodies such as IFAC for example.

“Within the AIA we are strong, committed and professional, and I am very proud to represent the AIA as President for a further year.”
