On 3 July, AIA Hong Kong Branch took over 30 students from PolyU Hong Kong Community College to Bangkok, Thailand for the 2nd Multinational Business Case Tournament (MBT) 2018/19.
Now in its 2nd year the MBT is a competition offered to business students in order to develop their communication, presentation and problem-solving skills within a real-world business environment.
This year the competition saw six teams, made up of four to six students presented with a case study relating to Hong Kong and Bangkok based on the topic of ‘The Development of the express delivery businesses under the influence of up-moving trend of online shopping: A case study of Hong Kong and Thailand’.
Prior to the tour, the students visited Kerry Logistic (Hong Kong) Ltd where they were given the opportunity to explore and learn new trends within the business industry.
The students were then accompanied on their trip to Bangkok by AIA Kong Branch President Dr. William Ho and Membership Services Manager, Aby Yuen. During the trip the students undertook a range of activities whilst visiting a range of Kerry businesses.
Commenting during the tour, Dr. William Ho said: “It is a great pleasure to accompany and provide guidance to such a talented array of students. The MBT is a real opportunity for students to develop their professional skills and gain real world experience in business. In addition, it provides the students with an insight into the qualities and benefits that being an AIA student provides.”
The tour culminated with the students presenting their findings to a panel of judges including AIA Hong Kong Branch President, Dr. William Ho. The MBT results will be announced at the end of August 2019 with an awards ceremony taking place in mid-September 2019.
Following the trip, students said they found the whole MBT process very enjoyable and an experience which will positively benefit them as they look towards their career and professional development.
