Join AIA and speakers from Grant Thronton on 16 April 2019 in Bromley for our second event at our new CPD venue! The Seminar will give an overview of the various offerings within the forensic accounting world, followed by an explanation of the types of activities/engagements across both investigations and disputes. Based on past cases our speakers will walk through the typical activities and considerations involved (data preservation, collection, interviewing, books and records extract and analysis, structured and unstructured data review and analysis, reporting and regulatory/legal implications).
Speakers: Luke Firmin and Kathryn Milward - Grant Thornton
Luke is a qualified accountant, anti-money laundering professional and certified fraud examiner with over ten years’ experience across financial crime and investigation focused engagements. He has worked on a number of global assignments for financial institutions and a broad range of corporate clients, including large regulatory reviews, fraud investigations skilled persons reviews (mis-selling) and anti money laundering compliance.
Luke has detailed working knowledge of the UK’s anti-money laundering framework, including legislation, regulations and industry guidance.
Luke has written and presented reports for use in civil and criminal proceedings and has proven success in helping clients devise more robust financial crime and fraud prevention processes and procedures.
Kathryn started her career as an accountant and auditor working mainly with owner-managed businesses, charities and high net-worth individuals. She qualified as an ACA in 2017 and joined Grant Thornton’s Forensic Investigation Services team in 2018. Since then, she has worked on a number of financial crime and investigation engagements.
Kathryn’s experience has included regulatory reviews, forensic due diligence, investigating anti-competitive conduct and other investigations. She has assisted with the preparation and writing of reports for a broad range of clients, including corporate clients, financial institutions and corporate service providers.
