This session will review the recent Irish tax developments and include:

  • The main tax changes in Finance Act 2022 of interest to advisors for clients, including changes that were expected, those that weren’t and what might happen next year (i.e. following publication of the Commission on Taxation report last summer)  
  • Recent Revenue updates (including Revenue’s new approach to risk rating of Revenue interventions and what that now means) 
  • Items of interest in recent eBriefs and Tax Appeal decisions 
  • Irish/UK estates – inheritance tax issues that frequently pop up in cases where assets in both jurisdictions

Gary O'Mahony

Gary is Managing Director at O’Hara Dolan & Co.

He is a law graduate from University College Cork (1990) and completed the post-graduate conversion course to accountancy in Dublin City University (1991)  He trained with Arthur Anderson, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1994 and as a tax professional in 1995.

Gary’s practical and technical expertise in taxation is combined with a  strong commercial and professional awareness built up over his thirty year career to date as a tax specialist.
