AIA is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2024 AIA Scholarships, funded by the AIA Educational and Benevolent Trust. These scholarships are awarded to students demonstrating a strong commitment to pursuing a career in accountancy or auditing, providing them with full financial support to achieve the AIA professional qualification.
The deserving winners of this year’s scholarships are Shantelle Malcolm from Jamaica, Michael Jefferson Nelson from Ghana, and Tony Li from the United Kingdom. Each has exhibited exceptional passion, drive, and a keen willingness to learn, traits that are essential for success in the accountancy profession.
Shantelle Malcolm, Jamaican scholarship winner, said of the opportunity, “Having been selected as a candidate for the Commonwealth scholarship, I know I will be developing skills that will enable me to advance my career. I recognise the responsibility entrusted to me, and I'm dedicated to using this scholarship to drive positive change and advance the principles of integrity, transparency, and professionalism in my organisation."
Michael Jefferson Nelson, the winner from Ghana, said, “Receiving this scholarship from AIA is an incredible honour. As someone deeply passionate about accounting and auditing, this opportunity is not just a stepping stone, but a pivotal moment in my career. I am grateful for their confidence in my potential and their commitment to nurturing future International Accountants. This scholarship is more than just financial support; it is a validation of my dedication and a catalyst for my aspirations in accounting, and for this, I am grateful.
