The taxation of individuals will focus on resident natural persons as the tax authority has in recent times placed a lot of emphasis on high net worth individuals. Government has also made changes to the definition of estate developers which has material impact on supply of properties in Ghana.

Further, you will delve into the documentary evidentiary requirement for claiming deduction for corporate income tax following recent stance of the tax authority on this matter. Recent nuances in the area of claiming benefits provided for in double tax treaties between Ghana and other contracting states will also be discussed.

Participants will get an understanding of some key recent changes in tax laws in Ghana. It will also afford the participants the opportunity to engage in the practical issues that may arise in the implementation of the laws.

Kwasi has over 15 years professional tax and accounting experience, over 14 years have been with Ernest & Young (EY).

Kwasi's professional experience includes global compliance and reporting, international tax and transactions, tax controversy and indirect tax for MNC clients.

Kwasi was ranked by International Tax Review (ITR) as a Tax Rising Star in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2023. He is an advocate for tax fairness, integrity and advocacy.

Kwasi is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Tax Practitioner and a Lawyer. He holds an MBA from University of East London, A BSc degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Wisconsin University College, Ghana.

He was called to the Bar, England and Wales, by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. This was after pursuing his Law Practice with the University of Law, UK.
