The CEA - Investigations and Enforcements (Ireland)

This webinar will delve into the functions of the Corporate Enforcement Agency, its investigative powers, evidence gathering tools and outcomes.

The  CEA was established in July 2022 under the Companies (Corporate Enforcement Authority) Act 2021. Its statutory mandate is derived principally from the Companies Act 2014. This session will provide an introduction to the functions of the Corporate Enforcement Authority, its background, investigative powers, evidence gathering tools and outcomes. The session will look at the roles of the Civil, Criminal and Insolvency Supervision directorates within the CEA.  

Within its multi-disciplinary workforce the CEA has a number of Senior Forensic Accountants. Fallon will provide insight into their role within the CEA and how they interact with the various directorates.  

Fallon will discuss the principle sources of work for Civil, Criminal and Insolvency Supervision directorates which include reports from auditors, examiners, process advisor, liquidators, etc.  

The aim of the presentation is to provide insight into what is expected from accounting professionals when engaging with the CEA.

Fallon Judge

Fallon is Director of Civil Enforcement. Previously, Fallon was a Senior Forensic Accountant with the CEA and in that role acquired extensive experience in both civil and criminal investigation. Previously, Fallon worked with an international accountancy firm, where she specialised in the areas of insolvency and corporate recovery.   

In addition to being a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Fallon is a member of the Irish Tax Institute. Fallon also holds Post Graduate Diplomas in Corporate, White-Collar & Regulatory Crime (King’s Inns), Forensic Accounting (Chartered Accountants Ireland) and Insolvency (Chartered Accountants Ireland) as well as a B.Sc. in Architecture (Queens University Belfast).
