Mr James Gerard Long, FCA AITI MBA Gerard is currently Head of Department of Accounting and Economics at the South East Technological University (SETU), where he has worked for almost 20 years. He is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the department including staffing, timetabling, academic standards and examinations. Gerard lectures and examines the Auditing modules in the Masters in Business in Accounting programme. Alongside his teaching activities, Gerard also currently holds the post of examiner and marker for two professional accountancy bodies. Prior to his post at the Institute, Gerard began his career as a Trainee Accountant before joining Deloitte & Touche as an Audit Senior where he was responsible for the completion of fieldwork for a range of clients.
