Topical Tax Update

Gain practical insights into the Budget’s key tax developments, helping advisers support SMEs, businesses and individuals with confidence.

10:00 - 11:00

Date: 25 November 2026

This session takes a practical look at the most significant tax developments emerging from the Budget and the wider tax landscape, with a particular focus on small businesses, SMEs and individual taxpayers.

Drawing on her extensive experience working with HMRC, HM Treasury and the tax profession, Emma Rawson OBE will explore the policy changes that matter most, explain the thinking behind them, and highlight the areas where advisers should be paying closest attention.

Rather than simply summarising announcements, Emma will focus on what the changes mean in practice, where potential risks and opportunities may arise, and how advisers can help clients respond effectively.

Attendees won't leave with a list of headlines they've already read. They'll leave with a clearer understanding of the developments most likely to impact their clients and the practical steps they can take to address them.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify the key tax changes arising from the Budget and understand their potential impact on small businesses, SMEs and individual taxpayers.
  • Recognise the areas where clients may face new risks, obligations or planning opportunities as a result of recent policy developments.
  • Understand the wider direction of travel in tax policy and how emerging changes may affect future planning and compliance.
  • Apply practical actions and advice to help clients prepare for and respond to the changes discussed.
