AIA PROUD TO SPONSOR ‘THE DARK SIDE OF ACCOUNTANCY’ CONFERENCE

The Association of International Accountants (AIA), the global body for professional accountants are delighted to once again sponsor the London South Bank University (LSBU)  organised National Accountancy conference.

The event which takes place on the 28November 2018 in collaboration with PQ Magazine will welcome accountants, accounting students and individuals working in the accountancy profession, or connected with the sector to the London South Bank University Southwark Campus – Keyworth Centre.

This year’s theme is based around the dark side of accountancy, focusing primarily on corporate social responsibility and ethical accounting. What are the implications on strategy, company positioning, the legal ramifications and how are they financially measured?

Graham Hambly, Editor PQ Magazine, commented: “We want to show how accountants can use AI and big data to become a force for good. Ethics and corporate governance is another area that accountants must show they are working for the public good.”

Last year’s event was a complete sell-out and this year promises to be no different with a host of expert speakers already confirmed to attend, including Professor’s Prem Sikka, Paul Moxey and Ken D’Silva.

Upon agreeing the sponsorship, AIA Chief Executive, Philip Turnbull, said: “We take great pleasure in working closely with London South Bank University and PQ magazine as we look to the future of the accountancy profession in a time when technological advancements are making such profound changes on the profession we operate within.”

Other prestigious event sponsors include: ACCA, ICAEW, ICB and CIMA.
