Leading climate action platform Ecologi has announced its acquisition of Net Zero Now, a specialist in sector-specific carbon measurement and reduction. Net Zero Now, a partner of AIA, brings its expertise in carbon reporting to this strategic move, combining forces with Ecologi’s world-class climate initiatives to create a seamless solution for businesses striving for net zero.

Operating under the Ecologi brand, the newly combined entity will provide businesses with a streamlined approach to sustainability. By integrating precise carbon measurement and reduction strategies with verified climate projects, companies can take meaningful steps toward environmental responsibility, regardless of where they are on their journey to net zero.

“This acquisition marks a significant evolution in corporate climate leadership,” said Dimitri Theocharis, CEO of Ecologi. “Businesses need more than just tools—they need complete solutions. By combining Net Zero Now’s sector-specific methodologies with Ecologi’s funding for top-tier climate initiatives, we are offering a comprehensive pathway for businesses to achieve net zero.”

Neil Ross Russell, Managing Director of Net Zero Now, emphasised the importance of tailored solutions: “Different industries have unique sustainability challenges. A restaurant’s carbon footprint differs significantly from that of an accounting firm. By joining forces with Ecologi, we can deliver credible, simple, and affordable sector-specific climate solutions that empower businesses to take effective action.”

Carl Jepson, AIA Director of Sales & Marketing welcomed the acquisition, highlighting the benefits for its members: “This partnership marks an exciting step forward in supporting AIA members on their sustainability journey. By integrating Net Zero Now’s sector-specific expertise with Ecologi’s trusted climate solutions, we are providing our members with an accessible and credible way to achieve net zero. We look forward to building on this collaboration and helping our members navigate the evolving landscape of corporate sustainability.”

With businesses facing growing regulatory and stakeholder expectations for environmental accountability, this end-to-end solution simplifies carbon reporting, enhances supply chain transparency, and ensures compliance with key frameworks such as SECR, CSRD, and SBTi. Initial focus areas will include hospitality and professional services, with plans to expand into additional industries throughout 2025.

The acquisition also strengthens Ecologi’s ability to support businesses beyond traditional carbon offsetting. Through initiatives like the Ecologi Impact Funds—launched in 2024—companies can contribute to high-quality environmental projects spanning forest restoration, habitat conservation, and carbon dioxide removal, all aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

With over 24,000 businesses already using Ecologi’s platform—including major brands such as Co-op, O2, BAFTA Albert, and Ubisoft—this integration offers companies a powerful new way to meet their climate commitments with confidence and credibility.
