A MESSAGE FROM THE AIA PRESIDENT AT CHRISTMAS

Last updated: 20 Dec 2021 10:20 Posted in: AIA

2021 has been another testing year as we continue to adapt to the ongoing difficulties of Covid-19, however the changes we implemented at the start of the pandemic, and the investment we made in digital infrastructure, have ensured that AIA continues to meet the needs of our members and develop as an organisation.

AIA members have once again shown strength and versatility in the face of adversity and been instrumental in guiding businesses, large and small, through this rapidly changing economic period. It is a testament to your skills, drive and tenacity that you have been able to adapt in these testing times.

Here are just some of our achievements in 2021:

  • We have expanded our qualification portfolio and launched the new AIA professional qualification and Certificate in Business Finance
  • We have continued to develop our online learning capabilities making it easier for students to complete AIA qualifications
  • We have expanded the guidance and information available to members
  • We have spoken to government and stakeholders on key issues such as audit reform, taxation, professional standards and financial crime.
  • We have held more free webinars and workshops providing members with the latest guidance from industry experts on core topics
  • We have surveyed our members and used that feedback to develop the membership support services we offer
  • And we have joined new initiatives such as the Good Business Charter, All Party Parliamentary Group on Taxation, Accountancy Sector Fraud Charter and the Green Finance Education Charter to work with other parties on areas of shared interest.

Throughout the year, but especially at this time, it is important to support those that find themselves in need. Your donations to assist fellow members through times of hardship will be gratefully received by the AIA Educational and Benevolent Fund.

Finally no matter where you are throughout the world, let me wish you the very best for the festive season as we look towards further exciting developments for AIA in 2022.
