The Members in Practice Panel exists to ensure that the voices of our members are heard and represented. Its purpose is to gather insights and feedback from practitioners, helping AIA to better understand the challenges and opportunities within the profession.

 

The panel plays a vital role in shaping our engagement with regulators and key stakeholders, ensuring that members’ interests are effectively communicated and supported.


Aftab Foroze, Panellist

Aftab Foroze brings over 50 years of business experience across a diverse range of sectors, including retail, manufacturing, estate agency, mortgage brokerage, and the service industry. He has successfully operated companies both in Europe and the UAE, giving him a truly international perspective on business management and consultancy.

Aftab is a proud FAIA member of the Association of International Accountants and leads his practice in Bristol through Aftab Foroze Consultancies Limited (trading as AFC Accountancy Services), providing expert accountancy and advisory services to a broad spectrum of clients.

Camila Michkinis is a qualified accountant with over 14 years of experience in the accounting field. She graduated in Accounting in Brazil in 2014 and later established her career in the United Kingdom. In October 2024, she founded Accountancy Doctors Limited with the mission of helping small businesses and self-employed professionals achieve financial health and sustainable growth.


Since its foundation, Accountancy Doctors has built a strong presence in the UK market, offering tailored services in accounting, taxation, payroll, and business advisory. The firm is recognised for its personal approach, attention to detail, and dedication to supporting clients through every stage of their business journey. At the heart of Accountancy Doctors is the belief that every business deserves the same care and precision as a doctor gives to a patient — ensuring financial wellbeing and long-term success.


Clare Marsh, Panellist

Clare Marsh qualified as a chartered accountant with a boutique firm before spending over a decade at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she participated in both national and international leadership development programmes. During her time at PwC, Clare audited a wide range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to household names, contributed to deal teams, delivered training locally and globally, and most recently worked in the sustainability assurance team.

Clare now runs her own practice, specialising in supporting women-led businesses to build confidence and knowledge in accounting and tax. She makes the accounting space approachable and practical, helping business owners leverage it to grow and strengthen their ventures. In addition, Clare has cultivated a thriving network of women business owners, offering free networking, webinars, and a safe space to ask the questions that keep them up at night.

Cyd Smith has been running her practice for over 33 years, supporting small businesses with a full range of services to keep them up to date and compliant. She takes a collaborative approach, helping clients understand their numbers and empowering them to manage their finances as much as they feel comfortable, while providing expert support for the rest.

Jane Leslie is a member of a small family-run practice established in 1978 in Northern Ireland, where they have served long-standing clients for over 15 years. Their clients include sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies across a range of industries, with a particular focus on the farming sector. They provide comprehensive support in all areas of business, including accounting, tax, VAT, PAYE, CGT, IHT, AML compliance, training, and business advisory services.


Juan Carlos Venegas, Panellist

Juan Carlos Venegas is a public accountant, finance trainer, and Director of Fiscal Accounts Ltd, with over 15 years’ experience in practice and a background in Spanish law. He advises clients across multiple industries on accounting, taxation, financial management, budgeting, and strategic implementation, helping organisations strengthen financial performance and achieve sustainable year-on-year growth, including growth rates of up to 50% and successful business acquisitions.

Juan Carlos provides expert advice on corporation tax, VAT, personal income tax, PAYE, and cross-border taxation, with particular expertise in UK–Spanish tax matters. He has delivered public and in-house finance training across the GCC region, Asia, and Africa, and in January 2020 served as an Assessor for the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Dubai.

He is also a forensic accountant and expert witness, specialising in fraud prevention and detection, loss of earnings, business interruption, and commercial and family disputes. Fiscal Accounts Ltd is a member of the IFRS Sustainability Alliance.


Olalekan Aladesanmi, Panellist

Olalekan Aladesanmi is an economist and chartered accountant with deep expertise in finance, accounting, business advisory and economic analysis. He is the Director of Breakthrough Professional Services Limited, where he provides strategic financial solutions to clients across the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

With a Ph.D. in Economics from Newcastle University and FAIA membership, Olalekan brings over 15 years of cross-sector experience—from tax and audit roles to university lecturing and consulting. His work has been published in leading finance journals, and he has lectured in economics at Teesside University and London South Bank University.

He is passionate about combining academic insight with real-world application to drive corporate success, improve business literacy, and support sustainable economic development.

Pradipkumar Patel has over 16 years’ combined experience in the accountancy sector and has been running his own practice for more than eight years. Prior to establishing his firm, he worked at a large accountancy practice, where he worked closely with partners and gained broad technical and commercial experience.

His practice now manages a diverse portfolio of over 300 clients, providing a comprehensive range of accountancy and advisory services tailored to meet their individual needs.

With over 20 years’ experience across all areas of accounting, Sameer’s expertise spans technical compliance, complex audit assignments, corporate finance, tax advisory, strategic financial advisory, and long-term business planning. He is highly skilled in leveraging technology and data analytics to drive efficiency, enhance client outcomes, and build sustainable business models.

Sameer holds overall responsibility for the strategy, vision, and development of Proview Accountants, leading the firm’s continued growth and innovation.
