AIA RECOGNISED BY THE NATIONAL APPROVED LETTING SCHEME

The Association of International Accountants (AIA) is pleased to announce that The National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS) with immediate effect will recognise the signatures of AIA practising members for the signing of the NALS Accountant’s Report.

The NALS is an independent, not for profit licensing scheme for lettings and management agents operating in the private rented sector. Established in 1999 by the Empty Homes Agency with the backing of industry organisations such as RICS the aim was to establish a single badge for consumers to look for and understand the service and protections a NALS firm offered through adherence to strict licensing criteria.

NALS is a well-respected organisation recognised by Government, tenant and landlords organisations alike and is the only agent organisation whose sole focus is consumer protection.

Commenting on the recognition, Rachel Rutherford, AIA Policy & Public Affairs Manager, said: “With a shared interest in professionalism and the protecting the public interest, I am delighted that the National Approved Letting Scheme now recognises the high quality of the AIA professional qualification and our robust membership requirements.”
